As a psychologist, consultant and coach, I made the journey From Employee to Entrepreneur thirteen years ago. Up until then, while I raised my three children, I lived with the assurance of a regular paycheck every month. These days, some folks are losing their jobs. This is the time to become an entrepreneur. You can read my story here.

I was recently at a memorial service where a woman told me that she had been laid off after thirty-six years with a major international telephone company. To her, it was both a disaster and an unbelievable shock. When I told her that her best next step might be to harness her expertise, develop a business plan and start selling her services back to that company as a consultant, she was shocked again. It had never occurred to her to become an entrepreneur.

It's a really big step to create a pay day all on your own. It requires a different mindset, new strategies and an entirely different way of prioritizing your time, talent, experience and finances. I take my clients From Idea to Implementation , from where they are to where they can create the life and livelihood that is in alignment with who they are, what they value, their expertise and experience and their beliefs and purpose. If that is not the approach, you are simply chasing dollars. And, that does NOT work!

One of the important benefits I offer my clients is to learn to dissect the marketing language that is coming at them. Some clients have learned through bitter experience that that a quick, immediate promise of effortless wealth is just marketing language and highly unlikely to create the return on investment promised. Although some clients came to me with a few wounds from marketing wars, they soon developed the discernment to choose only what was right for them, in alignment with their business and marketing plans. No impulse decisions. That can be a money trap for entrepreneurs.
