"It's the economy," she told me when I asked about her business, "It's taking away my business!"
And, she was serious about that. To her it felt as though failing was inevitable. The downward slide had no brake holds. The only result was disaster.
I asked her if she wanted to talk a bit about her business. For a moment, she wavered, obviously thinking there was not even any point. I understand. This has happened more than once in the past few weeks. She took a huge breath in, let out a sign and said, "Why not?" in that way that let me know she felt it was already dead and buried.
It all began in a depressive tone until I asked her why she had chosen what she wanted to do in life. Slowly, the sun began to come out. She remembered why and she spoke of it with increasing passion. She lit up.
"Ah! It's not so dead." I thought to myself.
"Are you still interested in offering that to your market?" I asked.
"Sure, but what's the point? It's over."
"Actually, no. It's not over. It seems it needs re-thinking, re-planning, re-focusing and re-working, but, it's not dead." There was a flicker of interest.
"Really? You think there is hope."
"Yes, I do. If you have passion, patience, purpose and persistence, we can re-work it!"
Now, she was interested and ready to re-invest in her vision. How about you? Are you thinking your business is ready for a Requiem? It's worth thinking it through, rather than burying it alive. I'm helping this women and I would be happy to talk with you.
There is much you can do to keep your dream alive. Refuse to live in denial about your business. Find out how you can cash your reality check and make it pay now.
